We counted cameras, checked for tags lifting whatever
Carried handguns to show security if they checked out pockets
We were like clockwork, committed to crime cuz often
It's what made us feel alive instead of something more robotic
I digress
Cuz now that gun is in my hand, my temple pulsing where its pressed
I commit crime just to keep my conscious intact
Take my beatings with the smile of a psyche that's been cracked
I'm throwing punches at the cages of my social prison cell
Yanking out my life support, demanding unplugged from this hell
But you've been tamed
Stripped of all your power so now all you do's complain
Yeah it seems to me the only thing you ever do's complain
The skies grow darker and today like any day
Will be the last day of my life, at least if I have any say
But I digress, yes and the rest of you've been tamed
I can see it in the eyes of almost everybodys face
Let all the moments blur together, forever to be forgotten
Just like clockwork, the gears will never see their labor's product
Like the onslaught of panic that collapses on my chest
Every building that we burn down let's them know their time is spent
We are like clockwork, committed to crime cuz often
its what makes us feel alive instead of something less robotic
But I'll take my chances, disgracing what they hold sacred
Just to spit it in the faces of the keepers of my cage,
Who I detest
But I guess since all you do is take then you can take two to the chest
And if you got some shit to say then you can take two to the chest

Well the best of intentions turn into prison sentances
That's what happens when you listen to the voices in your head
But it sucks that your choices are tranquilizers or voices
I dont blame you for torching that Portland apartment complex
Well metaphorically its beautiful to me
Metaphorically its beautiful to me
Well I feel like an asshole cuz I cant send you the letter that I wrote saying I love you and I wish that you were out
Cuz I feel like it's my fault that you ever became involved with this self destructive lifestyle that led you to be without the things you need
Well I guess poverty is beautiful to me
Yea symbolically its beautiful to me
Although I'm not a man of faith, I'll try to stomach just a taste of something less than cynicism as we keep losing this fight
To make the walls and systems fracture and to overtake your captors but it feels like waiting for the rapture and I don't believe in Christ
But metaphorically its beautiful to me
Metaphorically its beautiful to me

We all are made subordinate
Packed into a pen and then programmed to vegetate
Indoctrinated by insidious subliminal sound waves
The mantra tells us to consume and be complacent in the state
My state of mind is not my own
I'm just a product of hypnosis just like everyone I know
And I can't wake up sleeping dreamers because everyone believes
They're immune to the subliminal information received.
Well it makes me sick, scared and benign
It makes me worship and pay tribute to the alters of my mind
And I don't think I can fight back but maybe thats another lie
Cuz if all our lives are meaningless than why are we alive
Well I've been praying that a God exists to justify my birth
And to force open the gates of hell to save us from the earth
And to save us from being made pawns of psychic espionage
And to save us from losing ourselves inside of this mirage

Impeding Freedom
02:39

All my friends are steady dying by the truckload
I hear about them all the time
They've got unhealthy obsessions with needles
Their discontent with their own lives
And so am I
Hell so am I
Cuz I cant be content with complacency and misery
I can't be content with hourly paid slavery
I can't bite the hand and I can't live off the land
It's been replaced with property
And I've been told I can't complain cuz I don't vote
I won't cast ballots for the electoral college to overthrow
If voting made a change they'd surely take that right away
Freedom is just a lie were sold
I won't buy it though
Ain't buying it no
Cuz nothing matters and the riches men own everything
All the wealth and all our lives
Synthetic comforts come from prescription bottles
And it holds us over til we die
But I refuse to look the the other way
As people are killed and locked away
We're all in cages, clear as day
Discomfort, discord, disarray
Theres always a cop when I don't need one
Armed with guns and with misleading
Words to make you think you need police for your wellbeing
But I've seen through the lies repeating
In all the fine print that I've been reading
It's got me paranoid and scheming
Screaming laws impeding freedom
But the police never provide freedom
Politics never provide freedom
The profits (prophets?) never provide freedom
Only we can provide freedom
So meet me in the candlelight and we'll take off through the night
Fight with bullets, bottles, bricks and maybe we'll take back our lives
And they ever catch us, we'll have a chance to die with pride
Or I'll die alone and thats fine
